David joined Grocon in 2001 and is responsible distilling project requirements and overseeing the front end of all new projects from a design point of view including establishing design teams and creating the best possible design outcomes for our clients.
David also works in conjunction with the Construction and Development parts of the Grocon business to not only ensure the successful design outcome of our projects, but also to ensure that the planning process is seamless and well executed.
David has worked in the field of design and building for over three decades and has an extensive background in large project development and design management of large scale and highly complex projects. They include; QV Melbourne, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Northern Stand redevelopment, Fairfax Media House, 480 Queen Street Brisbane, Swanston Square and Bouverie Street Apartment developments in Melbourne. He was also the development manager behind the carbon neutral Pixel building in Melbourne and more recently assisted with the design management of Legion House in Sydney, a heritage listed building which has been redefined using carbon neutral technologies.
David’s particular interest in sustainability in the built form saw him appointed as Australia’s expert on the International Energy Agency study of Net Zero Energy Buildings. David is an architect, an accredited GreenStar professional; and has been the Chair of Grocon’s national sustainability committee. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) from Melbourne University and is a fellow of the Williamson Community Leadership Program.
